The
Association of American Colleges and Universities and Project Kaleidoscope invite you to
attend the Transforming STEM Higher Education Conference.
The conference will address both the importance of increasing the number of
STEM baccalaureate degree earners who master complex STEM content and
competencies and also the importance of enhancing STEM literacy for all
students. To these ends, the conference will strategically address several
dimensions of STEM higher education reform, including innovative and effective
approaches to undergraduate STEM teaching and learning; strategies for
measurement and evaluation; inclusive excellence; faculty professional
development; and advancement of effective institutional change strategies.

6th Annual Conference 2014 | Quality Matters Program

The Quality Matters 6th Annual Conference will be in Baltimore September 29 - October 1. Now is the time to plan for a faculty and staff getaway that includes face-to-face workshops and so much more.

We will be at the Renaissance Harborplace in Baltimore September 29
- October 1. Monday, September 29 is a day of pre-conference workshops, each of which features tools and takeaways you'll use to improve your courses and classrooms right away. The conference begins later that evening with a welcome reception. Sessions begin 8 a.m. Tuesday morning and continue until 3:15 p.m. on Wednesday, October 1 before

Overview

At AAC&U’s 2013 Global Learning in College meeting, more than 500 participants laid the foundations for a vibrant community of practice sharing insights, opportunities, and challenges.   At the 2014 Global Learning in College meeting, participants will continue to articulate a vision of the global learner and will explore efforts to design educational experiences—across the curriculum and in the community—to help students develop the cross-cutting capacities they need.   Domains to be addressed include global knowledge, global challenges, global systems and organizations, global civic engagement,  and global identities.

It does not matter how “internationalized” our campuses or how “globalized” our curricula, if our graduates have not gained the cross-cutting capacities they will need to thrive in the world as we understand it today and imagine it in the future.

• Can we agree on the kinds of knowledge and skills that global learners need to demonstrate?
• Do we have a clear vision of what we expect a global learner to be ableto do in practice?
• Do our efforts to develop educational structures and designs under the banner of global learning align with that vision?
• What kinds of evidence do we have, and what kinds of evidence do we need, to allocate resources in ways that effectively help all students become global learners?

NUTN Network 2014 Annual Conference - San Antonio, Texas

The National University Technology Network's (NUTN) 32nd Annual Conference on Distance & Blended Learning is coming up this September in San Antonio. The theme this year is Collaboration: Breaking Down the Barriers. NUTN strives to be a place where distance learning decision makers, professionals, and thought-leaders can make genuine connections amongst fellow conference attendees. Networking is a key feature of the conference experienced by participants in the interactive sessions, the engaging impromptu conversations in the hallways, over lunch, and social hours.
